ındustrial fan types are as follows.
Siirt forward curved centrifugal fans
they are characterized by having many small blades that curve in the direction of rotation. this type of impeller draws the most power in "free air", but speeds up as resistance is added and requires a scroll guard to operate effectively. the air is discharged tangentially, usually through a rectangular or circular discharge. the fans used in safety cabinets are mostly of this type. developing relatively quiet high pressure, these fans are often used in ducted systems and also benefit from their directional distribution.
backward curved centrifugal fans have fewer large blades, which can be of blade cross section, that curve away from the direction of rotation. somewhere in the middle of the fan curve, maximum power and minimum speed coincide, and the fan is said to be "non-overloading" as long as the motor is sized to run at that point. the fan can be used with or without the slide housing, providing great flexibility in system design.
this type of fan requires a higher speed to create a higher pressure than similar sized forward curved fans. backward curved fans, such as the new ewheel design, are the most energy efficient of all impeller designs, and it is common for very large fan systems to often use backward curved fans for lower power consumption. examples include inline duct fans. axair supplies low, medium and high pressure centrifugal fans with single or double inlet options to cover a wide range of industrial applications.
