what is dust collection?

what is dust collection?
ıf you are a factory manager or business owner, there are many reasons to buy an industrial dust collector. ıt improves employee health and safety, increases productivity, leads to better product quality, helps you meet compliance regulations, and helps you get happier employees.
still, when making a purchasing decision, you need to consider both short-term and long-term costs to determine true life-cycle costs. but price isn't everything when it comes to industrial dust collectors. spending a little more time pre-determining the right dust collector to achieve the most efficient performance pays dividends down the road.
what adds to the price of your dust collector?
how long will your dust collector last? and how much will it cost in its lifetime? there are no easy answers to these questions. lifetime costs can vary significantly and depend on several variables.
 dust load
dust load is the amount or volume of dust that must be removed from the air in your work environment within a specified period of time. heavy loaded applications may require a different style of dust collector. for example, a 10,000 cfm plasma cutting application may require a 32-cartridge dust collector that will have a median of 8,128 square feet. on the other hand, a 10,000 cfm package store may only require a tlm 81-10, which will only have 1,272 square feet of media. the truth is that plasma application requires much more media. also, the footprint of these two dust collectors is very similar.
 powder type
your dust characteristics play an important role in matters such as dust collector size, number of filters, filter material type and fan size. to understand the properties of your dust particle, you need to ask yourself:
• what is the size of the filtered dust particles: small or large?
• ıs the density of the dust low, such as sawdust, or dense, such as fine steel dust?
• do you filter any abrasive or abrasive dust?
• are you working in a high temperature environment?
• ıs there moisture or oil in the powder?
you also need to find out if your powder is flammable. dust and debris buildup can create a potentially hazardous situation — combustible dust — produced from products such as wood, metals, grains, chemicals, plastics, paper, and certain textiles. this can be very dangerous if not handled correctly in the design of the system.
